Recently, a team from the Chair of Experimental Physics, together with colleagues from the Department of Chemistry, developed a novel method to achieve spatially controlled non-covalent functionalization of twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG) by using its moiré lattice as a template for the functionali...
Atomically thin, two-dimensional semiconductors are widely used to create platforms for the investigation of physical phenomena like superconductivity. In order to build suitable structures, single-layer materials are stacked on top of each other to form multi-layered sandwiches. However, only if th...
The Research Training Group on Planar Carbon Lattices (RTG2861-PCL) will offer 14 positions as Doctoral Researcher / PhD student starting April 1, 2023 and comprising 75 % of the full-time weekly hours. The employment contract is initially limited for 36 months, but ends prematurely at the end of th...
The new Research Training Group (RTG) 2861 of TU Dresden and FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg combines innovation and interdisciplinarity in research and education in the field of planar carbon lattices (PCL). It is one of eleven Research Training Groups nationwide that have currently been approved by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the next five years. The speaker is Thomas Heine, Professor of Theoretical Chemistry at TU Dresden, deputy speaker is Janina Maultzsch, Chair of Experimental Physics at FAU.
